Part I
He watched her walk slowly to the door. She
was upset, he was upset...he couldn't let her leave.
"Sara?"
She turned slowly back to him. Her eyes
briefly met his before quickly looking towards the floor.
"Sara...I'm sorry."
She looked back up. He could see the confusion
in her eyes. "For what?"
He stood and walked to her. "For pushing
you away...for not letting you in...for being me." He lowered his eyes as
he took in a deep breath.
"You're sorry for being you?"
"Yeah." His answer was no louder
than a whisper.
She took his hand into hers and gently rubbed
her thumb in circles across his skin. "Never be sorry for who you
are."
He wanted to look at her, but he couldn't. He
tightened his grip on her hand and felt the tear escape his eye. "Sara...I
need you. If you walk out that door right now, I know that I've lost you
forever." He slowly raised his eyes to hers. "I think that would be
the one thing in life that I can't handle."
She reached up and gently wiped his tears
away, while her own began slowly escaping. "You'll never lose me forever, Griss...don't you know that?" She took a deep breath
and looked into his eyes. "I'm in love with you Gil...I have been from the
first time we met. I can't imagine my life without you in it."
They slowly leaned into each other, their lips
were mere inches apart. He had loved her for years now. His voice quietly
whispered her name.
~~~~~~~~~
The shrill sound of his cell phone woke him
suddenly. Confusion set in for a moment, then he realized he was home, in his
own bed, alone. It was only a dream. "Shit!"
He reached for his phone and angrily grabbed
the offending object from his bedside table. "Grissom."
His voice was different, Sara couldn't tell if
he had been asleep or if she had interrupted something. "Did I wake
you?"
"Uh, yeah, but it's okay. I needed to get
up anyway. What time is it?"
"7:30...are you okay?"
"Yeah...I was just...dreaming, I
guess." He suddenly realized that he had no idea why she was calling.
"Sara? Is everything okay?"
"Huh? Oh...yeah, everything's fine. I was
just wondering if I could get a ride with you to work tonight. My car's in the
shop."
"Sure, not a problem. See you in about an
hour?"
"Thanks Griss.
I really appreciate it. See you then...bye."
"Bye." He slowly laid the phone back
down with a heavy sigh. "I'm going to have to talk with her about this
sooner or later."
He glanced at the clock, took a deep breath,
and headed to the shower.
He quietly walked up the steps to her
apartment. Standing in front of her door, he decided that he had to tell her
now. Lifting his hand, he knocked three times and waited.
"Who is it?"
"Grissom."
The door opened and he was taken by her
beauty. She had just gotten out of the shower apparently.
"I'll be ready in a minute, come on
in."
He hesitated only a second, watching her walk
back towards her bedroom. He shut the door and walked to her couch. He sat
quietly for a few minutes, trying to think of the right words to say. Knowing
there weren't right words. He wasn't
good at communicating. He was staring at her coffee table when she walked back
in the living room.
She stood and watched him for a few seconds
before saying anything. She thought about how she was going to tell him. He had
been invading her dreams for weeks now. She watched as he absently bit his
lower lip, obviously concentrating on something.
"You okay?"
He jumped slightly and looked up. "Huh?
Oh...yeah, I'm fine...just thinking."
She smiled. "You think too much
Grissom."
He returned her smile. "That's what I've
been told."
She made her way across the living room and
sat down beside him on the couch. "What were you thinking about?"
He sighed heavily. "I don't know...the
impossible, the improbable..."
She looked at him curiously. "You haven't
been sleeping well, have you?"
"No...not really." He turned his
eyes to her. "I've been dreaming a lot lately."
She thought she saw something in his eyes, but
wasn't sure. She could've just been reading more into it. "Good or
bad?"
"I don't know." He was still gazing
into her eyes. He couldn't help it. He always got lost in her eyes.
"You wanna talk about it?"
She watched as he slightly bit his tongue.
There was something bothering him. She was sure of it. "I think I need
to."
They were interrupted by his cell phone
ringing.
"Grissom."
"Hey, Griss.
It's Brass."
"Hi...what's up?"
"Well, your shift has the night
off."
"What?"
"Something about Ecklie
receiving a bomb threat. They've closed down the entire unit for the night. All
of your cases will have to hold until tomorrow."
"Is this a joke?"
"No...it's not. Look, your guys need a
night off anyway. Just enjoy it, Gil. I'll see you tomorrow night."
"Okay."
He slowly pushed the end button and looked at
Sara.
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah...our shift has the night
off."
"Yeah, right."
"No, really. Ecklie
got a bomb threat today. They shut the unit down for the night. I need to call
Cath, Warrick, and Nick."
She watched as he made his phone calls, her
thoughts swirling in her head. Well, this
worked out pretty good. He's here, we don't have to go to work. Now...if I can
just get him to stay.
He ended his last call and looked at her,
noticing the smile on her face. He felt the smile tugging at the corners of his
own mouth. "Well, now what?"
She looked up at him, seeing the smile in his
eyes. "Well, I guess you don't have to take me to work." She glanced
over at her dvd player. "Wanna watch a movie? I can make some
popcorn..."
His smile widened. "Sure, sounds
good."
"Okay, you pick the movie and I'll get
the popcorn started."
He watched her disappear into the kitchen
before turning to the stacks of dvd's beside the
television. Good taste in movies. He finally picked one as she walked back into
the living room with a bowl of popcorn and two glasses of tea.
"What are we watching?"
"Manhunter...is
that okay?"
"Ooh...I love that movie! I still haven't brought myself to see 'Red Dragon'
yet because I can't see Edward Norton playing Graham." She placed the
popcorn and drinks on the coffee table and took her seat next to Grissom.
The movie started and she shifted next to
him. He glanced at her and raised an
eyebrow. "You can't be comfortable
sitting like that."
"Actually...you're right. I'm used to
laying down and watching it."
He saw the opening and took his chance. Slowly he turned sideways so that his back
was against the arm of the couch and moved his leg behind her. "Okay, come
here."
She looked at him and smiled. She laid down
between his legs and placed her head on his chest. "Thanks."
"Not a problem, Sara." He smiled.
During the movie, he found himself paying more
attention to the beautiful woman lying on the couch with him than to the movie.
He had seen this movie dozens of times before anyway. He loved the way she
would instinctively grab his leg when she was startled. It was the sign of a
good movie. It didn't matter how many times you saw it, it would still startle
you.
She turned her head sideways a bit to look up
at him. "Am I hurting you?"
He shook his head and smiled. "No, you're
fine."
She returned his smile and directed her eyes
back to the television. It was then that he noticed her hand was tracing small
circles on his knee instead of grabbing it. It was also then that he noticed
his fingers were tracing the same small circles on her right arm. He heard her
breathing pattern change slightly. She wasn't stopping him. He still wanted to
talk to her. The movie was almost over. She shifted her weight slightly and
turned on her side, her head still on his chest. Her hand had moved from his
knee to his thigh. He closed his eyes, taking in the sensations that her hand
was giving him. He let his own hand move from her arm to her waist.
Damn
I wish this movie would end.
As if on cue, the credits started to roll.
Neither one of them made any effort to move from each other.
"Sara? Can I talk to you?"
She raised her head and looked into his eyes.
"Only if I can talk to you too."
They hesitantly made their way back to a
sitting position. He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes.
He slowly shook his head. "I'm not good
at this."
"At what?" The concern was evident
in her voice.
"Communicating."
"And that's news?" They both smiled.
"What's wrong Grissom?"
"My dreams...I've been dreaming so much
lately..."
"What about? Homicides? Kidnappings?
Bugs?" He could feel her smiling at
him.
He took a deep breath and softly whispered his
reply. "You."
Her smile grew. "Me?"
"Well, actually...us." He still
didn’t have the courage to look at her.
"Us?" He slowly nodded. "You
mean like...sex dreams?"
He suddenly looked at her.
"No...no...we never had
sex...just..." He saw the smile and the look in her eyes.
"Kissed."
His nerves getting the better of him, he
looked away from her.
"That's too bad...in my dreams...we have
sex."
His head snapped back to look at her.
"What?"
Her hand was back on his thigh and she was
leaning in to him.
"Sara..." It was all he could get
out before her lips softly touched his.
She slowly deepened the kiss and felt the
excitement as he responded. She felt his tongue softly beg for entrance and
opened her mouth more, letting her own tongue snake out and touch his. He
pulled her closer to him, letting his tongue explore her mouth. Slowly the kiss
ended, leaving two scientists breathless.
"Damn..."
She smiled and gently caressed his face.
"My thought exactly."
He leaned back on the couch and she rested her
head on his chest. He was softly stroking her hair when he began to smile.
"Sara?"
"Yeah?"
"So...you, uh...you dream about me
too?"
She met his eyes and a devilish grin spread
across her face. "Oh, yeah. For weeks now."
"Tell me about them." His grin
mirroring hers.
"Tell me about yours first."
He chuckled and leaned down to softly kiss her
lips. "Let's just say my dreams were nothing compared to the real thing."
He felt her skin flush under his touch. His
lips found her neck and his tongue ached to taste her skin. A moan escaped her
throat from the sensations his tongue was giving her. Her nails were gently
scratching the back of his neck as he gently guided her to a lying position on
the couch. His lips found hers again as they moaned into each other's mouths.
He shifted somewhat and let his tongue trace the skin on her throat.
"Grissom?"
"Hmmm?" She loved the feeling of the
vibrations on her neck.
"Can we take...this...to
the...bedroom?" Her breaths were becoming shorter. She could only imagine
what the rest of him could do to her if his mouth was arousing her this much.
He looked into her eyes...brown eyes full of
lust. He had never seen anything as beautiful. "Are you sure?"
She grabbed his shirt and pulled him down for
an earth-shattering kiss.
"I’ll take that as a yes."
He stood and gently pulled her up with him.
She took both of his hands in hers and began walking backwards, her eyes never
leaving his.
"Are
you going to tell me about your dreams?"
She raised an eyebrow and smiled. "I
thought I'd show you instead."
His smile widened and he let himself be led to
her bedroom.
He closed the door behind them and pulled her
into his arms. He leaned down to kiss her, stopped midway, and gazed into her
eyes before continuing on his quest. He could feel her nimble fingers quickly
working on his belt…then unbuttoning and unzipping his pants. He gasped and bit
her neck, a little harder than he meant to, as he felt her hand carefully reach
into his boxers and grasp him.
She began to slowly stroke him as he quickly
removed her shirt and bra, leaning slightly to lovingly tease her nipples with
his tongue. He gently began pushing her backwards to the bed, his hands
caressing her back and his mouth alternating between her breasts, neck, and
lips. Suddenly, he was aware of the fact that her hand was no longer on him. A
question was forming in his mind. A question he never asked. He understood as
he felt his shirt being quickly discarded.
His eyes found hers as he playfully pushed her
onto the bed. A smile broke over his face as she motioned for him with one
finger to join her. He slid in beside her and rested his hand on her stomach as
he leaned over her for another kiss. His hand quickly slid down and unbuttoned
her jeans. He could feel her shudder underneath him. He opened his eyes and
watched with amazement as her orgasm washed over her and she whispered his
name.
He quickly rid her of her jeans and himself of
his pants and laid back down beside of her. He loved the feel of her naked body
against his. She couldn’t believe the sensations that her body was feeling just
from his touch. She had never had an orgasm before from the anticipation of sex
with a man. The anticipation was killing her. She could feel his tongue on the
flesh between her breasts, his hands were on her hips. She couldn’t take it
much longer.
"God, Griss…please…"
He looked up at her and smiled. Softly he
whispered to her. "Please, what, honey?"
"Please…just…oh…" She could feel his
lips and tongue on her inner thighs. His finger gently, easily, slid inside of
her. She arched her body into him as another finger slid inside, his tongue
flicking her clitoris gently. "Griss…uhm…oh…God…Gil…"
Her hand was in her hair, pulling him closer.
He sucked her clit into his mouth and gently nibbled at it with his lips. That
was all it took. She was literally screaming his name now, he couldn’t believe
how aroused he was making her. It was so unreal to him.
He slowly made his way back up her body,
planting gentle kisses on her skin. "Sara?"
She slowly opened her eyes and looked into
his. He smiled, realizing she was unable to speak at this point. "Sara…are
you okay?"
She nodded and leaned up to kiss him before moving
her mouth to his ear. He felt her legs wrap around his waist and her nails
gently scrape along his back. Her lips and tongue placed a passionate kiss on
his neck before she softly whispered to him. "Make love to me Gil."
He was lying on his back with his left arm
around her, gently rubbing her shoulder. Her head was on his chest, her hair
damp from sweat. Her left hand was held lovingly in his right. Their breathing
had finally slowed and their pulses had returned to normal. He smiled as he kissed
the top of her head.
"Gil?"
"Yeah?" She looked into his eyes and
he read her question. His hand left hers and gently caressed her cheek.
"There are no regrets Sara."
She sighed softly. "Are you sure?"
He kissed her lips lightly. "I’m
positive." A thought crossed his mind suddenly. "What about
you?"
"No…none at all." She moved closer
to him, if that was even possible. She laid her head back on his chest and
closed her eyes. "I love you Gil."
He tilted her head up towards him and she saw
the smile that had travelled from his mouth to his eyes. He ran his hands
through her damp hair and down her back.
"I love you too Sara."
She thought her heart would burst as she
watched the tears escape his eyes. She carefully wiped his tears away and
pressed her lips to his. As she pulled away from him, she shook her head and
quickly glanced around the room.
"What’s wrong?"
Her smile grew. "Nothing…just making
sure."
He raised an eyebrow as his confusion shone in
his eyes. "Making sure?"
She ran her hand through his wet curls and
nodded. "Yeah…you know…that I’m not dreaming again."
He smiled and pulled her on top of him.
"God, I hope we’re not dreaming."
She laughed and gently stroked the strand of
hair that was curled around her finger.
He looked at her curiously for a moment and
then grinned. "So…Sidle…are you
going to tell me about your dreams?"
She laughed again and leaned down to kiss him.
"Let’s just say my dreams are nothing compared to the real thing."
She let her hands come to a rest on his ribs
and raised an eyebrow at him.
"What?" His eyes were shining
brightly at her. She didn’t answer, just slowly ground her hips against him,
feeling an immediate response beneath her.
He laughed and gently rolled her over onto her
back. His lips found hers and he savored the taste of
her tongue. He slowly entered her again, sighing at the sensation. "God,
Sara…you’re going to be the death of me."
She wrapped her arm around his neck, her
fingers playing in his hair. She pulled him down for a kiss and quietly
whispered to him. "I could think of worse ways to die."
He smiled against her lips and felt her nails
scratch his back as she closed her eyes and cried out his name for the
umpteenth time tonight. He held her close as the wave of pleasure coursed
through her body. He smiled and softly whispered in her ear. "I love
you."
Sleep finally found them in the wee hours of
the morning. They both slept peacefully for the first time in weeks…in each
other’s arms. Her eyes slowly blinked open and glanced at the alarm clock
beside the bed. 8:30. By her calculations, she had slept for about 6 hours…a
new record for her. Smiling, she rolled over to put her arm around the man
sleeping beside her. Her smile quickly faded when she realized he wasn’t there.
She let her hand linger on the sheets where he slept…it was still warm, he
hadn’t been gone long.
She heard a rattle in the kitchen, and then
the aroma of cooking eggs wafted into the room. Her smile returned as she
realized he hadn’t left. She quickly got out of bed and picked up the shirt he
was wearing last night. As she slid her arms into it, she giggled lightly.
Wearing his shirt made her feel like he was holding her. Taking a quick glance
at the bed, she sighed remembering last night’s events. She loved him, he loved
her. With a huge smile, she turned and made her way to the kitchen.
She stood watching him for a few moments.
Standing there in his boxers, fixing breakfast for them…she couldn’t believe
it. This wasn’t a dream. She walked over to him, sliding her arms around his
waist, and gently kissed the slightly red scratches on his back.
"Good morning."
He jumped slightly, turned around and smiled
at her. "Good morning. I was going to wake you up when I had breakfast
ready." He bent his head and tenderly kissed her lips. "Sleep
well?"
"Mm-hm." She snuggled her head
against his chest and held him closer to her. "You scared me though."
He gently tilted her face upwards, concern
showing in his eyes. "What did I do?".
She smiled quickly, letting him know
everything was okay. "For a minute, I thought you had left."
He returned her smile and ran his fingers
through her hair. "That’s something you don’t have to worry about."
His lips gently covered hers, then quickly became more passionate. He sighed as
he pulled away. "I love you Sara."
She wrapped her arms around him and placed a
gentle kiss on his chest. "I love you too." Her fingers softly ran
across the scratches on his back and she felt him flinch a little. "I’m
sorry…did I hurt you?"
He laughed and looked into her eyes.
"It’s a little tender this morning…but I definitely didn’t mind last
night."
Her laughter joined his. "I’ll trim them
a little after we eat."
They sat down to eat the breakfast he had
prepared for the two of them. He found himself gazing into her eyes more often
than actually eating. Every once in a while, he would simply run his finger
across her skin. He couldn’t help it. Her skin was so soft. He would lean over
and steal kisses from her lips. He couldn’t help that either. So many thoughts
were running through his head at once. But only one emotion. Love. Pure love.
True love.
He smiled as she reached over to him and ran
her hand through his hair. He could see that same emotion in her eyes. He loved
her, and she loved him. Could life possibly get any better? Slowly their lips
joined again. She looked into his eyes and smiled.
"I need a shower."
He kissed her again. "Okay."
She slowly stood and started walking towards
the hall. Turning around, she quickly added. "You coming?"
He pushed his chair from the table and made
his way to her. "Thought you’d never ask."
Their shower consisted mainly of holding one
another, enjoying the sensation of their skin touching. Their hands caressing
one another, their lips and tongues tasting each other. Soap and shampoo did
enter their world, though briefly. Just long enough to clean their flesh and
hair. They stayed under the spray of water and in each other's arms until the
hot water ran out.
As they reluctantly got dressed, Grissom realized
that these were the clothes he was wearing last night, and he didn't have a
change with him. Sara smiled as she watched him slowly button his shirt.
"So...what do you want to do today?"
"Not go to work...hold you all night
again..." He ran a brush through his wet curls. "But, what I need to
do is stop by my house, change clothes, and feed the tarantulas."
He turned to find her lying on the bed and he
made his way to lie beside of her. His strong arms pulled her to him as his
lips found her earlobe. "You coming with me?"
"Do you want me to?"
His chuckle interrupted her thoughts of
ripping his shirt back off. "Well, I invaded your home...don't you want to
invade mine?"
Her laughter filled the room.
"Invade?"
He smiled as he shifted slightly over her. His
lips found the sensitive skin on her neck that he learned last night drove her
crazy. "Invasions can be very nice."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
His hand rested on her thigh, her fingers
gently stroking his skin, as they drove to his house.
"I never asked...why is your car in the
shop?"
She smiled. "Brakes. It didn't want to
stop." She looked out the window. "Kind of like me."
He turned to look at her. "You don't want
to stop?"
"Not where you're concerned." She
looked back at him. He could see the passion in her eyes. Her hand left his and
came to a rest on his thigh. She could feel him tremble under her touch. A
quick tap of the horn from the car behind them told him that the light had
turned green. With a smile on his face, he quickly made the journey to his
house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He quickly fed his tarantulas and placed
another piece of apple in the cricket tank. He made his way back to the living
room, only to be surprised that she wasn't there.
"Sara?"
"Out here."
He smiled as he made his way to the balcony.
He walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her, gently pulling her back
to him. Her hands covered his as she leaned her head against his chest.
"It's beautiful out here."
He kissed the top of her head. "Yes, it
is. Even more so with you here."
She sighed heavily. "How are we going to
do this, Griss?"
He turned her around in his arms. "What
do you mean?"
"Work."
He smiled brightly at her. "I checked the
regulations."
"You did?"
"Mm-hm." He kissed her gently.
"What does it say?"
"Nothing. There is nothing listed for Criminalistics."
"When did you check?"
"A couple of weeks ago. When the dreams
became an every night event."
Her smile mirrored his. "I love
you."
He answered with a kiss. She never thought she
would have an orgasm from a simple kiss. But, then...this was Grissom. And
there was nothing simple about Grissom. She moaned into his mouth and he felt
her body quiver in his arms. Her hand was on his stomach, she could feel the
muscles twitch under her touch. He moaned lightly as he felt her gently tugging
on his belt.
"Sara?"
She looked into his eyes. Blue eyes full of
passion. Her lips found his collarbone and her tongue teased the flesh there.
His hands on her hips pulled her closer to him. His fingers found their way
under her shirt and gently caressed the flesh above her tailbone.
Her fingers had finally unbuckled his belt as
her teeth gently nipped at the flesh on his neck. He suddenly realized that
they were still outside...in the daylight...on the balcony...where anyone could
watch them. She had worked the button loose on his pants and was carefully
unzipping them. He held her closer as her hand gently touched him...caressed
him...felt him grow in her hand. Her tongue softly traced his lips, teasing
them.
Her hand felt so warm and soft wrapped around
him. He opened his eyes to find those dark brown orbs gazing into his. His
breath was becoming shorter. His hand gently massaged her breast, her nipple
hardening quickly under his touch.
He quickly glanced around at their
surroundings and his eyes returned to hers.
"Sara...can we take this inside?"
She smiled as she playfully pushed him
backwards through the doorway.
He quickly slid the door shut and locked it.
Her fingers had already unbuttoned half of the buttons of his shirt. Her tongue
snaked out and caressed the skin on his chest. He ran his fingers through her
hair as she looked into his eyes. She had yet to release her hold on him,
gently stroking and squeezing him. His hands quickly pulled her shirt over her
head. Reluctantly she let him go for a mere second, letting her shirt fall to
the floor.
She could feel his curls gently tickling her
chin as he pulled her nipple into his mouth, teasing it with his tongue, gently
biting it with his teeth. Somehow they found their way to the couch. He
unbuttoned and unzipped her jeans, letting his hand slide down her back and
into her jeans, softly kneading the flesh of her ass.
She stood before him on unsteady legs. He
quickly pulled her jeans down and off and tossed them across the room. His
tongue found her navel, gently swirling around and inside. With a guttural
moan, she pushed him backwards...until his back rested against the cushions of
the couch.
Her mouth planted kisses on his chest. She
could feel his heart pound under her. She slowly knelt in front of him, her
hands tugging at his pants. Reading her eyes, he lifted his hips and allowed
her to remove his pants and boxers. She heard a moan escape his throat as she
softly kissed his thigh. She looked into his eyes as her tongue gently slid up
the length of his erection, stopping only when she reached the glans to place a
tender kiss.
His right hand ran through her dark hair as
his left caressed her face. "Sara..."
She smiled at him as she opened her mouth and
slowly took him in. His head fell against the back of the couch as his hand
moved to her shoulder, gently squeezing.
"Oh God, Sara..."
He could feel her tongue tickling the
underside of his shaft as she took more of him into her mouth. It took
everything in him to resist the urge to thrust against her. Even in his
heightened state, he knew that she was in control at this moment. He ran his
hands through her hair and gently stroked her slowly bobbing head. This wasn't
the first time that a woman had performed fellatio on him, but it was the first
time he was experiencing these sensations from it.
She felt him swell and increased her motions,
careful not to scrape the sensitive flesh too hard with her teeth. His hand had
tightened in her hair, though he made no effort to control her movements with
his hands. She was thankful for that. She hated it when a man would try to take
control in this situation. She knew he was close. She felt his hand grasp her
shoulder. She heard him cry out her name. She felt the violent, but beautiful,
explosion in her mouth and swallowed quickly...not wanting to lose one drop.
Satisfied that she had caught all of it, she slowly pulled off of him...feeling
him relax under her.
She made her way up to him and kissed him
passionately. It was an odd sensation for him to taste himself on her tongue.
Not nearly as disgusting as he would've imagined. But only because it was Sara.
His body shuddered as she laid down and pulled him on top of her.
He looked into her eyes. God she was so
beautiful. He kissed her lips. "Wouldn't you rather go to bed?" His
voice was still breathless.
She smiled. "Not right now. We may end up
falling asleep."
He returned her smile. "I highly doubt
that would happen."
His mouth began making a path down her body,
making her gasp. He felt her quiver with anticipation as he gently licked her
inner thigh. Her hand wrapped in his soft curls, pulling him closer to his
destination. His only thought was loving her. Pleasuring her. He could smell
her arousal and ached to taste her again.
