Sara watched her son carefully line up his
collection of plush insects on top of the coffee table. She chuckled, thinking
not for the first time that Michael had inherited his father’s precision with
everything. Hearing her laugh, Michael turned his hazel eyes towards her.
"That’s right."
She tilted her head and smiled brightly at Mikey. "What’s right?"
He pointed towards the army of bugs and
grinned. "They go there…"
Hearing the key in the lock, his head jerked
towards the door. "Daddy!"
As he ran towards the door, he shrieked
happily as it swung open carefully to avoid a collision with the boy. Michael
dodged the opening door and ran directly into Grissom’s legs.
"Hey Weevil…what are you doing?"
He reached his small arms up towards his
father. "Hug!"
He shifted the packages to his left arm as he
used his right to pick up his growing son. "I missed you. Did you have a
good night’s sleep?"
Michael nodded enthusiastically and pointed
towards the parcels. "What’s that?"
Grissom carefully made his way to the sofa,
taking extra caution not to disturb Mikey’s insect
display, and placed the packages on the floor. "Things for you…and things
for Mommy…"
"Me an’ Mama?"
Grissom chuckled as he looked into his son’s
bright eyes. "Yes…but, for later…not now, okay?"
Mikey’s brow furrowed slightly. "Bugs?"
"Maybe…"
Mikey seemed to think that vague answer over for a moment
before sliding out of Grissom’s lap and resuming his earlier activity. Grissom
watched him with a smile on his face. A warm hand on his arm made him turn his
head towards the woman sitting beside of him.
"Hi…"
He leaned over and placed a tender kiss on her
lips as he gently rubbed her protruding abdomen. "Hi…you feeling okay
today?"
Sara nodded quickly and offered him a smile.
"Did you get everything for tomorrow?"
"Everything except for the cake…I need to
pick it up tomorrow morning."
Their eyes returned to their vibrant son
playing quietly. "Hard to believe he’ll be one tomorrow…and talking."
"Hard to believe I’ll be 48 tomorrow…and
I was talking before I was one.”
“Yeah, well...looks like my life is full of
geniuses...or geniusi...or...something.”
He grinned as she stood in front of him and
wrapped her arms around his neck. "Did you get a good night’s sleep last
night?"
She shrugged her shoulders and laughed
lightly. "As good as you can imagine…"
She grimaced lightly as she felt a kick
against her right side followed quickly by another one to the left. His eyes
narrowed in concern. "Hey…you okay?"
She nodded as she grit her teeth.
"Mm…yeah…they’re just pretty active this morning…"
He caressed her stomach slowly as he leaned
over to place a gentle kiss through her shirt. "Hey…give Mom a break for a
while, okay?"
"Boys will be boys, you know…"
He chuckled as he stood up straight. When Dr. Herrero had informed them of the fact that she was carrying
not one, but two babies, they decided that learning the sex as quickly as
possible would be beneficial. Grissom had secretly been hoping for a girl, and
when it was revealed that both of the Grissoms
growing in her belly were male, he was briefly saddened.
His sadness quickly dissipated as the doctor
assured them that the boys were quite healthy and the pregnancy was progressing
well. He realized that the sex of the babies wasn’t that important, as long as
they and Sara were healthy. Boys, girls, or one of each…they wouldn’t be loved
any less.
He smiled as he saw the book of baby names
sitting on the end table. A gift from Warrick when
they announced that Sara was carrying twins. Coming up with names for one baby
was hard enough, let alone two…that was Warrick’s
reasoning.
He motioned towards the book that had
paperclips marking certain pages. "Find anything interesting in
there?"
She shrugged her shoulders and grinned,
ruffling Mikey’s hair as she walked past him.
"Not really…thought I’d wait on you…"
Grissom picked up the various bags and
followed Sara into the kitchen. His trademark lopsided grin appeared on his
face as she opened the refrigerator door and rummaged through the shelves.
Grissom reached over her as she was bent down and slid the ice cream he had
just bought into the freezer.
"Damn it…"
He pulled back and looked down. "What’s
wrong?"
She looked up at him with glistening chocolate
brown eyes. "There’s no barbeque sauce…"
He looked past her and pointed to a bottle
hiding behind the grapefruit juice. "Right there, honey…"
She shook her head violently. "That’s
honey barbeque sauce…I need hickory. You can’t put honey barbeque sauce on
pineapple!"
"But…you can put hickory barbeque sauce
on pineapple?"
She glared at her husband. "Don’t be an
ass, Gil…"
He chuckled and pulled a bottle out of a bag
that he had placed on the counter. He handed the bottle to his wife as he
grinned. "Hickory…not honey…"
Her eyes focused on the bottle as she began to
blush. "You’re an evil, evil man, Gil Grissom…"
"I love you, Sara…"
Grabbing a clean bowl out of the dishwasher,
she chuckled lightly as she dumped a can of pineapple chunks into it and doused
the fruit with the barbeque sauce. Offering him a shy smile, she popped a chunk
into her mouth, chewing and swallowing quickly.
"I love you too…"

They sat on the couch with Michael curled up
on Grissom’s lap, sound asleep. He reached over to Sara and brushed her hair
back from her eyes. "So…names?"
Sighing lightly, she picked up the book and
leaned against his shoulder. "Well…I really don’t care for rhyming
names…"
"Rhyming names?"
"Mm…yeah, like…Jim and Tim, or Bill and
Phil…Ron and Don…you know, names that rhyme…"
He chuckled lightly. "Okay…"
"And no cutesy names…like Tim and Tom or
anything…"
"How about…same initials?"
She seemed to think about that for a moment
before she smiled. "Same initials could work…suggestions?"
"Well…I’d like to have an ‘M’ in their
names…"
"Alex…"
Grissom raised an eyebrow. "Babe…Alex
doesn’t have an ‘M’ in it…"
She rolled her eyes as she smacked his thigh.
"I know…I like the name Alex…"
He thought about it for a moment and then
grinned. "Initials ‘A’ and ‘M’?"
She returned his grin.
"Alexander…Matthew?"
He nodded in agreement and leaned over to
place a kiss on her lips. "Alexander Matthew…very nice. What
about…Marcus?"
"And what about the first name?" She
smiled as she picked up the book and began to flip through the ‘A’ names.
"Aaron?"
He answered almost too quickly.
"No."
"What’s wrong with Aaron?"
He stared at her as his brow furrowed.
"Well, for one…Alexander and Aaron? Alexander Hamilton was killed by Aaron
Burr. And…if I needed another reason…" He paused as his eyes narrowed
slightly. "Aaron is the plumber’s name…"
Sara laughed herself into a coughing fit as
she tried to turn the page. "Forgot about that…"
"Anthony?"
Sara stared at nothing in particular as she
worked the name around in her head. "Anthony Marcus?"
Grissom didn’t realize he was holding his
breath as he nodded.
"Where did Anthony come from?"
"Anthony Thomas Kirsch…" He smiled
as he watched her eyes squint in concentration briefly.
"The Anthropologist? Studied
Buddhism…right?"
Grissom nodded nervously. He relaxed as a
bright smile broke over Sara’s face. "I like it…but…"
"But?"
"I don’t like the name ‘Tony’…"
"I don’t either…I was thinking…maybe…
‘Ant’…"
Sara’s smile widened. "Ant…I like it, but
you do realize that with you being the
bugman we’re going to catch a hard time over
it…Weevil and now…Ant…"
Grissom placed his hand over her abdomen and
smiled as he felt his boys kick lightly. "Alex and Ant…"
Sara glanced at the clock and yawned.
"Alex and Ant need to go to bed…along with Mommy and Daddy…we have a big
day tomorrow…"
Grissom stood up with the sleeping Weevil and
reached down to help Sara off of the sofa. "I’ll put him to bed and meet
you…"
She grinned seductively as she raked her
fingers through his graying curls. "I’ll be
waiting…"
He felt his heart skip slightly as he watched
her walk down the hall to their room. Bending his head slightly, he nuzzled
Weevil’s hair and whispered softly. "Need to get you to bed, Little Man…we
have a party to go to tomorrow…"
Grissom gently placed his son in the crib and
pulled the soft cotton blanket up over him. He smiled as Michael’s eyes
fluttered open, revealing his sleepy hazel eyes.
"Wus…"
"You want Rusty?"
He nodded slowly, fighting the intense desire
to close his eyes. Grissom found the plush Madagascar Roach at the bottom of
the bed and placed it in his son’s hand.
"There you go…" He smiled as Michael
rolled onto his side, cuddling Rusty to his chest.
"Tanks…" Michael yawned and closed
his eyes.
Grissom stood there for a few minutes watching
his son sleep. His mind wandered back a year, and he realized that he had a
very hard time remembering what life was like before Weevil. He smiled as he
also realized that he didn’t want to remember what life was like.
He leaned over and kissed Mikey’s
temple softly. "Goodnight, son…"
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Walking into the bedroom, he grinned as he met
the dark eyes of his wife.
"I was beginning to think you got
lost…"
He chuckled as he began to shed his clothes,
tossing his shirt onto the floor. "That would be a little hard here, which
is something we should probably discuss later. I…was just watching Weevil
sleep…"
He looked at her as he slid his jeans and
boxers off. His movements stopped abruptly as she pushed the sheet from her
body, revealing her nude form to him. His eyes roamed over her, pausing on
certain areas.
As he gazed lovingly at her abdomen, he made
his way to the bed. She rubbed her hand across her stomach, breaking his gaze.
"You act as if you’ve never seen a
pregnant woman before."
He looked into her eyes as he lowered his body
down next to her. "It’s not that…I just can’t get over…God, you’re
beautiful…so beautiful, Sara…"
Lifting her hand, she caressed his cheek as
she leaned into him. As she closed the distance between their lips, her eyes
made contact with his.
"I love you." She whispered softly.
He licked his lips in anticipation. "I
love you."
His left hand rested on the side of her neck
as their lips finally met. Her tongue immediately pushed into his mouth as his
hand slipped from her neck and carefully skirted around her painfully sensitive
breast.
She groaned into his mouth as he gently eased
her body on top of him. Pulling back, she inhaled sharply as she felt his
erection brush against her inner thigh.
He stared at her through his darkened eyes,
his left hand resting on her hip, his right caressing her belly. "Sara…we
don’t have to…"
She grinned broadly, running her finger down
his chest and relishing the slight quiver under his skin. "You should know
by now…" She raised up slightly, pinning his heated flesh against her
extremely moist folds. "…I don’t do anything…that…I don’t want…"
His eyes closed as she rotated her hips
gently. They re-opened quickly as she stopped the motion and spoke his name
softly.
"Gil?"
"What’s wrong, honey?"
"I…can’t…"
He raised his hand and brushed the back of his
fingers across her flushed cheek. "Okay…it’s okay, baby…"
She shook her head quickly as she smiled at
him. "No…no, that’s not what I mean. I want this…I want to make
love with you…I just…" She glanced down at their bodies briefly before
reconnecting the gaze into his eyes. "This position isn’t very comfortable
tonight…"
"Oh…" His face reddened slightly.
"I’m sorry…uh…how do you…um…"
She placed a finger on his lips and smiled.
"You’re so adorable when you get flustered." Leaning down, she
removed her finger and flicked her tongue against his lips. "It makes me
want you that much more…"
His mouth opened, but no words fell out.
Instead, he watched her slide off of his body and curl up beside of him with
her back facing him. She reached behind her, grasped his wrist and tugged
gently.
"Come here…"
He rolled onto his side and shifted his body
so that his chest was against her back. His left hand rubbed her hip gently
before sliding over her swollen abdomen. Propping himself up on his right
elbow, he leaned down and slowly kissed a path from her shoulder to her
earlobe. Drawing the soft skin into his mouth, he nibbled lightly before
releasing it and blowing a soft puff of air across the damp skin.
"This is comfortable?"
She responded by pushing her hips backwards
into him and groaning lightly. "Mm…yeah, it is…" Feeling the hardened
flesh slip between her lips, she pushed again. "Please, Gil…"
Pulling back slightly, he slid his hand
between her thighs. As his fingers found the area that, just a moment ago, was
the resting spot for his erection, he moaned lightly into her ear. "You’re
wet…"
"Mm…" It was all she could manage as
his finger dipped into her folds and found her clitoris. Given the state of
arousal she was in, she was surprised she had managed that much.
"Sara?"
She pushed her hips towards his hand as his
fingers circled her sensitive nub. "Hm?"
"Do you…know how beautiful you are?"
His middle finger left her clit and traced her inner lips. "Do you know
how much I want you?" His tongue found her collarbone. "Do you know
what you do to me?" His teeth nipped at her shoulder as his finger pressed
into her warm depths. "Do you know how much I love you?"
Her hand reached behind her and gripped his
thigh. She bucked her hips against him as he slowly stroked her inner walls.
"Gil…"
Feeling her fluids begin to collect around his
finger, he groaned against her skin. "Do you know how much I need
you?"
She whimpered as she felt his finger slide
from her. She moaned as she felt him push the head of his erection into her
folds.
"Don’t…tease…"
Holding her hip, he eased himself into her,
sucking in a sharp breath as her heat penetrated the thin skin of his member.
"No…intentions of…teasing…you…"
She dug her nails into his thigh as he began
to thrust slowly into her. "More…"
His breath was hot against her skin as he
tightened his hold on her hip. "Trying baby…"
Realizing that this position did not
accommodate the type of movement she wanted, she began to push herself up. He
smiled as he moved with her, sliding his right arm under her to help.
After she was situated on her knees and
holding herself up with her arms, she glanced over her shoulder and licked her
lips. "Better?"
Leaning over her, he ran his tongue over the soft
skin between her shoulder blades. "Mm…much…are you…comfortable?"
Her body quivered lightly at his touch.
"Yes…"
He renewed his gentle thrusts as his hands
roamed across her skin. He groaned as this change allowed him to plunge deeper
into her while he was still able to control the force of the motion.
A bead of sweat ran down his chest as he
fought to hold out for her orgasm. She leaned forward, resting her head on her
fists. A low moan started deep in her chest, gaining volume and intensity as it
made its way to her throat.
He felt the familiar shudder in her muscles as
he continued to brush across her g-spot with each stroke. He smiled as he
picked his name out of her mostly incoherent mumblings. His smile quickly faded
as he felt his scrotum tighten almost painfully.
"Sara…"
"Now…Gil…now…oh God…"
Her body quivered in an almost violent manner
as her orgasm crashed over her, her inner walls gripping his erupting member
tightly. He stayed where he was, his breath hot and heavy on her back, until
her muscles had loosened enough for him to comfortably slip from her.
He rolled onto his side beside of her and
smiled as she laid down facing him. His trembling hand pushed a stray hair back
behind her ear as she leaned in to kiss him.
She offered him a grin as she ran her hand
across his sweaty chest. "Yes."
He raised an eyebrow in a silent question. Her
grin widened as she answered him.
"Yes…I know how much you want me, I know
what I do to you, I know how much you love me…"
He returned her grin. "There are two you
didn’t answer…"
She blushed lightly. "I know that you
think I’m beautiful…and…I have an idea that you need me as much as I need
you…"
"I don’t think you’re beautiful. I know
you are. And…I can’t express how much I truly need you…and our boys…I just don’t
know how…"
Her blush deepened as she curled into his
arms, her abdomen pressed against his stomach. "We better get some
sleep…we have a big day tomorrow…"
He pulled the sheet up over them and inhaled
deeply. A deep smile formed as he felt two soft kicks against his stomach. He
rubbed her stomach soothingly. "Go to sleep boys…"
He rolled over and reached for his wife.
Feeling only the cool sheets, his eyes opened quickly. He glanced around the
room and noticed the early morning sun peeking around the slats of the blinds.
"Sara?"
Sitting up in the bed, he ran his fingers
through his unruly curls and yawned. He smiled as he heard the familiar chatter
of his son. He stretched as he got out of the bed, wincing lightly as his
shoulder popped loudly. Throwing on a t-shirt and a pair of blue sweatpants, he
followed the sound of the boyish giggle down the hall.
He chuckled lightly as he heard his wife
talking to their son in the kitchen. He shook his head in amusement as he heard
the familiar sound of a very excited Weevil jumping up and down.
"What’s today, Mikey?"
"Birfday!"
"Who’s birthday is it?"
"Mine!"
Sara’s soft laughter warmed Grissom’s heart as
he leaned against the hall wall. "Who else has a birthday today?"
He could almost see the boy shrug his
shoulders. "Don’ know…"
"Daddy…"
"Daddy? Birfday
t’day?"
"Mm-hm…"
"No…MY birfday!"
"You and Daddy have the same birthday.
You were his birthday present last year…"
Michael giggled and jumped up and down again.
He didn’t see the person who had slipped into the kitchen while he was watching
his mother.
"And…it was the best birthday present
I’ve ever received…"
Sara looked at the doorway and smiled brightly
as Mikey spun around at the sound of his father’s
voice.
"Daddy!"
Grissom knelt down as the boy came running to
him for his morning hug. Wrapping his arms around Grissom’s neck, he squeezed
tightly as his father stood back up. He giggled as Grissom tickled his ribs.
"Happy Birthday, Weevil…"
"Oo too?"
Grissom smiled and kissed his son’s cheek.
"Yeah…it’s my birthday too…"
Michael giggled and squirmed in his father’s
arms. Grissom sat Michael on the kitchen counter and held him in place with one
hand as he leaned over and kissed Sara’s lips softly.
"Good morning…"
"Good morning to you. Happy Birthday, babe…"
"Daddy?"
"Hm?"
He pointed to Sara’s stomach and smiled.
"Bubbas…"
Grissom chuckled and ruffled Mikey’s soft curls. "How many brothers do you
have?"
Michael held up four fingers. "Two!"
Sara leaned over and pushed Mikey’s ring and pinky fingers down. "Two…"
Mikey nodded enthusiastically and showed his father the
fingers that were left extended. "Yeah…two!"
Grissom pulled over a barstool and sat down in
front of Mikey. "Do you know your brothers’
names?"
Michael thought for a moment and then shook
his head. Grissom smiled as he gently rubbed his son’s soft skin. "Do you
know your name?"
"Weebul…"
Grissom and Sara shared a laugh while Michael
looked at them curiously. Sara leaned over and kissed Mikey’s
head. "Weevil what?"
"Weebul
Mike!"
"Michael O’Brien Grissom…"
Michael furrowed his brow as he stared at his
father. "Weebul Mike!"
"Weevil Mike? What’s your last
name?"
"Gwiss."
"Grissom."
"Gwissm."
Grissom laughed and shook his head.
"Close enough…for now."
Sara picked Michael up off of the counter and
poked Grissom in the shoulder. "You need a shower…people are going to
start showing up soon…"
He nodded and stood up, leaning over to kiss
Sara again. She pulled back quickly as Grissom’s tongue slid across her lips.
"Gil!"
"Geel!"
Grissom blushed lightly and turned to his son.
"That’s ‘Daddy’ to you, young man…"
Weevil giggled and pointed at his father.
"Daddy Geel!"
Grissom shook his head lightly as he chuckled
and walked back down the hall to get ready for the big day. Sara took the
opportunity to sit down with her son and teach him his brothers’ names.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
He had just finished tying Weevil’s shoes when
the doorbell rang for the first time. Michael’s eyes lit up as he bolted past
his father and ran down the hall. "I gettit!"
Sara laughed as she opened the door to reveal
Greg and Nick. "Hey guys…come on in."
As they moved past her, Greg scanned the room.
"Where’s the bugboy?"
"Unca Gweb!" Michael ran directly into Greg’s legs and
grinned up at him.
"Oh…there he is!" Greg chuckled as
he reached down and picked up the boy. "What are you doing, Mikey?"
"Is my birfday!"
Nick reached over and tousled Michael’s hair.
"Yes, it is…and we brought some presents for you…"
"An’ Daddy?"
Nick smiled as he took the boy from Greg’s
arms. "And Daddy?"
Mikey nodded quickly. "Daddy birfday
too."
Grissom entered the living room and laughed.
"Nick and Greg don’t have to buy me presents, Weevil…"
Michael turned and furrowed his brow as he
stared at his father. "No toys?"
Greg poked the youngest Grissom in the ribs.
"Only toys for you, buddy."
Michael seemed to think about that for a
minute before he grinned. "’kay…" He
focused his hazel eyes on the man holding him and pushed on Nick’s chest.
"Down Ick!"
Nick laughed and placed the boy on the floor
just as the doorbell rang for the second time. Michael jumped up and down
excitedly. "I gettit!"
The adults shared another laugh as Greg
reached over and pulled the door open. "Hey Cath, Warrick…come
on in…"
"Wik!"
Warrick smiled brightly at Mikey
as he knelt down in front of him. "Happy Birthday, Michael…"
"Weebul
Mike!"
"What?"
"Weebul
Mike!"
"Weevil Mike?"
Mikey nodded and grinned. "Me!"
Warrick shook his head gently and he returned the grin.
"Happy Birthday, Weevil Mike…"
Michael turned his attention to the blonde
woman kneeling beside of Warrick. "Hi Cad…"
He accentuated his greeting with a wave as he giggled.
Catherine grinned at the boy as she offered
him a wink. "You look more like your father every day…"
"Daddy Geel has
bugs!"
This time, Michael joined in as the adults
laughed.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Michael tore through the paper that wrapped
the box in front of him. When he finally got that off, he stared at the box
curiously. Grissom chuckled and lifted the edge of the box.
"Open that too, Weevil…"
Michael giggled and followed his father’s
lead. He peered into the open cardboard container and shrieked with delight as
his small hand reached inside.
"Cub! Cub! I got a cub!"
He ran to his mother, holding the small
t-shirt emblazoned with the Chicago Cubs’ emblem. He dropped the shirt into his
mother’s lap and held his arms up. "On!"
Jim Brass chuckled and shook his head in
amusement, silently thanking the supreme being for allowing the young Grissom
to like his gift. Grissoms, any and all Grissoms, were hard to buy for.
Sara pulled Mikey’s
shirt off and slid the new one over his head. "Did you thank Jim for your
new shirt?"
Michael ran over to Jim, stopping when he ran
into his legs and resting his chin on Jim’s knee. "Tanks, Dim!"
"Dim…oh, how I can’t wait until you can
pronounce all of your words correctly…" He grinned down at the boy and
offered him a wink. "You’re welcome, Michael."
Mikey shook his head at Jim and narrowed his eyes. "Weebul Mike!"
With that statement, he took off again…running
wherever his little legs would carry him.
Catherine laughed lightly and smiled at Jim.
"At least you’re not… ‘Cad’…"
Grissom leaned back in his chair and chuckled.
"He’ll get them all correct…one day…"
Greg shot a smile towards Catherine.
"It’s not too bad being ‘Gweb’…but, remember
Cath…we won’t be out of this stage for long before we’re in it again…with two
more."
Catherine let out an exaggerated sigh,
followed quickly by a round of laughter.
Michael turned his head quickly towards Nick,
as if he had just remembered that the young man was there. Running over to him,
he stopped directly in front of him and began chattering away.
"Two bubbas…" He held up four little
fingers and stared at them for a moment. Shaking his head more or less to
himself, he took his left hand and pushed two of his fingers down. "Bedder…"
Looking back up at Nick, he held his two
fingers up. "Two bubbas!"
Nick moved from his chair and sat on the floor
in front of Mikey. "Two? Wow! Where are
they?"
Michael pointed towards Sara. "Momma’s bewwy."
"Why are they in Momma’s belly?"
Mikey tilted his head and stared at Nick, his young
Grissom brow furrowed. "Dey not dun et, Ick."
Brass snorted as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Yeah, Nick…they’re not done yet…"
Ignoring Brass, Nick smiled at Michael.
"What are your brothers’ names?" He asked not only to see if the
young boy knew them, but also because he was curious himself.
"Awec and
Bug!"
"Eric and Bug?"
"NO! Awec and
Bug. Not Awec and Bug!"
Nick glanced up at Grissom, clearly confused.
"Griss?"
Grissom picked up the insect guide from the
bookshelf and sat down beside of Michael. Flipping through the pages, he
stopped after he found the one he was looking for. "Weevil? What kind of
bug is this?"
Mikey glanced at the page before he quickly answered.
"And."
Grissom nodded proudly. "That’s right,
it’s an ant. Now, what are your brothers’ names?"
"Awec and And."
"Very good, son!" He hugged the
young boy and kissed the top of his head before he looked back at Nick.
"Awec?"
"Alex, Nick. Alex."
"And…Ant?"
Sara rubbed her stomach gently to calm the
suddenly active boys. "Alexander Matthew and Anthony Marcus. Alex and
Ant…"
Brass shook his head as his smile grew.
"Figures…"
Grissom narrowed his eyes. "What’s that
supposed to mean, Jim?"
"Wazzat mean,
Dim?"
Catherine nudged Warrick
and then motioned towards young Mikey. "He even
stands like Gil…"
"Scary, huh?" Warrick
smiled back at her.
Jim’s smile quickly broke into a gentle laugh.
"Only an Entomologist would shorten the name ‘Anthony’ to ‘Ant’…"
Michael turned and sat down on Grissom’s lap.
"Neither of us like the name ‘Tony’…"
"Don’ like Donie."
"I just think it’s
typically…Grissom…" Jim offered his friend a warm smile.
Grissom returned the smile as Mikey leaned back against his chest and yawned.
Sara tapped Grissom on the shoulder and smiled
as he turned his head to look at her. He returned the smile and swivelled the
stool around to face her.
"Hey there…"
She looked over his shoulder at the newspaper
on the counter. "What are you doing?"
He stood up and gently caressed her stomach.
"Oh…just looking at something." Peering around her, he frowned
lightly. "Where’s Mikey?"
She chuckled and tugged on the front of his
shirt as she leaned forward to kiss him. As she pulled back, she offered him a
wink. "Outside with Greg telling everyone goodbye. Um…you gonna get
changed? The reservation was booked for eight…"
"Going now, dear." He turned and
walked through the door, stopping outside of the doorway and looking back at
her. "Where are we going?"
She shook her head in amusement. "Not
telling…" She waved her hands at him in a shooing manner. "Go…get
ready…"
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Greg smiled as Sara cuddled her very sleepy
son. "So…where are you going?"
"Out…" She grinned at the young man
sitting in the chair.
"Come on, Sara…I won’t say
anything…"
"Uh-huh…" Her eyes drifted to the
hall to find Grissom leaning against the doorframe. "You…look very
nice…"
He nervously smoothed down his black shirt and
straightened his tie. "You too…"
He grinned at her as she handed Michael to
Greg and carefully stood up. His eyes travelled over her body as she walked
over to him. Placing a kiss on his lips, she reached into his black jacket
pocket and pulled out the car keys.
"I’m driving tonight…"
"Sara…"
"No arguments…I’m driving." She
tugged on his hand as her smile grew. "Come on…"
"Where are we going anyway?" He
leaned down and kissed his sleeping son’s head. He glanced at Greg and motioned
towards the boy.
Greg cut him off before he even opened his
mouth. "He’ll be just fine, Grissom. Mikey and I
are good buddies…"
"In bed by…"
"Soon…look, he’s already asleep. And I
promise…no punk music, no hair dye, no funky clothes…he’ll be fine." He
stared into Grissom’s eyes. "Isn’t he always when you leave him with
me?"
Grissom seemed to think about that for a
moment. Opening his mouth to speak, Sara pulled on his arm.
"Let’s go, Gil…"
Grissom’s mouth closed as he nodded slowly and
allowed Sara to pull him towards the door. He turned around quickly as they
reached the door. "Greg?"
Greg had stood up and was walking towards the
hall with the sleeping boy in his arms. "Yeah?"
"Uh…there’s plenty of food in the
kitchen. Help yourself…"
Greg smiled at the couple. "Okay…"
"And…thank you for watching him tonight
for us…"
"Hey…no problem. It’s your birthday too.
Besides…you two need a night out alone." He waved towards the door with
his left hand as he held Michael securely in his right arm. "Now…go…have
fun…"
Grissom nodded and returned Greg’s smile. As
they walked out the door, Greg chuckled and shook his head. "Sometimes I
think we need to get a can of Grissom-be-Gone…"
He laughed to himself over the joke he was
sure Grissom wouldn’t find humorous at all.

"Sara…where are we going?"
She grinned as she turned left at the corner.
"Now, if I told you that…it wouldn’t be a surprise…"
He looked out the windshield and sighed.
"I don’t like surprises…"
Reaching over, she patted his thigh lightly.
"You’ll like this one…"
He mumbled softly under his breath as he
placed his hand over hers. He looked up as she pulled into a small half-circle
drive and gently applied the brakes, bringing the Tahoe to a stop.
A grin slowly appeared as he glanced at the
building. "Pietro’s…"
She squeezed his hand and winked at him as the
valet opened the door and helped her exit the vehicle. "Thought you’d like
it…"
He quickly clambered out of the truck and
walked around to the driver’s side as she took the card from the valet. Her
maroon dress shimmered under the soft street lights. Placing his arm around her
waist, he kissed her temple as he carefully ushered her towards the restaurant.
"You know…I just noticed something…"
She leaned closer to him and stepped around a
small puddle of water. "What’s that?"
"This reminds me strongly of our first
real dinner date…"
She looked up at him and grinned as he opened
the door for her. "And…what did we do after dinner that night?"
He blushed lightly as they were lead to their
table after giving their reservation details. Ever the gentleman, he pulled out
her chair for her before taking a seat on the opposite side of the table. He
looked into her eyes, the flicker of the candle reflecting in her dark irises.
Reaching across the table, his fingers gently caressed the back of her hand.
"I love you, Sara…"
"I fell more in love with you when you
brought me here."
He smiled shyly as he raised an eyebrow. She
turned her hand and pressed her palm to his.
"Don’t act surprised, you know that I was
in love with you before our first date…"
He quickly looked around at their surroundings
as his finger traced across the deep lines in her palm. "This is the same
table…" He stared at the table as the waiter placed the china dish in
front of him.
His eyes darted to the dish of grilled sea
bass in front of his wife. "And…this…" He motioned to both of their
dinners. "…is what we had for dinner that night…"
Pushing a bite of the bass onto her fork, she
smiled as she offered it to him. "Happy Birthday, Gil…"
He chewed the fish and swallowed, then grinned
brightly at her. "My birthday gift is a bite of sea bass?"
"If you’re not good, it will be…"
She returned his grin as she pointed to his dinner. "Eat your steak…"

After giving the valet a very generous tip, he
held the door open for his wife. Leaning inside, he brushed his lips against
hers as she fastened her seat belt. He inhaled sharply as she flicked her
tongue against his bottom lip. Hearing the young man behind him clear his
throat softly, he quickly pulled back and shook his finger at Sara.
"Bad girl…"
Turning to the valet as he shut the door, he
shrugged his shoulders and grinned before making his way to the driver’s side.
Climbing in, he glanced at her as he shifted into gear.
"I like bad girls…"
She playfully slapped at him.
"Girls?"
Pulling into the traffic leaving the city, he
cast her an apologetic glance. "Sorry…" He waited until he had her
fingers entwined with his before he allowed the grin to appear. "I
meant…women. I like bad women…"
He laughed loudly as she shot him a
mock-glare.

He pulled into a small, secluded parking lot
that was used during the day by tourists…and mainly deserted at night. Killing
the engine and switching off the headlights, he sighed as they looked down at
the city.
"Gil?"
He tore his eyes from the bright lights under
the dark sky and stared at the woman sitting beside of him. "Yeah?"
She inhaled deeply and ran her finger across
his thigh. "People expected us to fail…"
He shifted in his seat, taking her hand in
his. "Sara…"
She smiled as he pressed his lips to her
fingertips. "We…expected us to fail…"
He tilted his head in a silent request for her
to continue.
"But…here we are. It may not be a
lifetime yet, but in a few months we’ll have three beautiful sons…and…I can’t
imagine my life any differently…"
Seeing the tears in her eyes, he leaned over,
placed his hand on her abdomen, and kissed her lips softly. "Neither can
I…"
She lifted her hand and wiped a tear away as
it rolled down her cheek. "I don’t know why I’m crying…"
He smiled as he felt the slight movement under
his hand. "Well…it could be hormones…and the fact that you haven’t really
been sleeping well for a few weeks…"
Her fingers stroked the fine hairs at the nape
of his neck. She gently pulled him forward and kissed him soundly. His curls
wound around her fingers as they brushed through his hair. She groaned softly
as she pulled his tongue into her mouth.
Her fingers moved to the windsor
knot of his tie and began to tug it loose. He pulled back and looked into her
eyes. "Not here…"
"Gil…"
"No…there’s no way that you would be
comfortable in the car…"
"There’s a blanket in the back…"
"And the ground is hard, Sara…"
He sucked in his breath as her fingers slid
over the bulge in his pants. "And…so is something else…"
He shook his head as he bit his lip.
"Not…here…"
"Then…take me home…"
He stared into her eyes as she gently squeezed
the warm flesh under her hand. He blindly reached for the key and started the
engine.
Hearing the front door slam, Greg turned from
his toast in the oven and walked to the open doorway in the kitchen. His eyes
widened as he saw his supervisor and Sara, the woman whom he had
not-so-secretly carried a torch for, in the living room.
Grissom, his back pressed against the door,
groaned as Sara licked his neck and tugged at his tie. Greg diverted his eyes
quickly as Sara’s hand slid down Grissom’s chest, pausing at his waist to pull
his belt free.
"Shit…" Greg mumbled lightly as he
looked around the kitchen. Seeing no other way out of the room, he cast a quick
glance back into the living room. He blushed deeply as Sara’s hand sensuously
rubbed across the front of Grissom’s slacks. He took three steps backwards and
looked around the room again. "Shit…shit…shit…"
Sniffing the air, he smelled the unmistakable
stench of scorched bread. "Shit!"

Hearing the exclamation come from the other
room, Grissom pulled his tongue from his wife’s mouth and removed his hand from
her breast. "Shit…"
Sara’s eyes widened as she smelled the burning
toast. "Greg…"
Releasing Grissom’s erection, she took a step
back and smoothed her dress as much as she could. Smelling the burnt toast, she
offered Grissom a soft smile before she turned to walk towards the kitchen.
Grissom carefully walked over to the leather
sofa and placed a cushion strategically on his lap.
Sara grinned as she poked her head into the
kitchen. "Burn something?"
Greg jumped, throwing the dishcloth into the
air as he uttered something close to a squeal. "Jesus!"
She smirked as she walked through the doorway.
"Actually…it’s just me. Everything okay?"
"I…uh…yeah. I was just…uh…making
something to take to work tonight…"
She leaned against the counter and smiled.
"You’re off tonight…"
"Oh…um…well…Archie called earlier…said he
needed some help on something…so…uh…"
"You okay, Greg?"
Greg glanced into her eyes briefly before
looking back at the black pieces of bread on the rack. "Yeah…I just…burned
my toast…"
"Do you like sea bass?"
"Uh…yeah…"
He looked at her curiously as she handed him a
foil-wrapped package. "Here…take this…I won’t eat it…"
He opened the corner of the foil and inhaled
the aroma deeply. "This smells delicious…"
"It is…enjoy it." She gave him a
wink as he quickly left the room to gather his belongings.
Reaching onto the coffee table to grab his
phone and keys, he glanced at Grissom. "Hey…"
Grissom gave the lab tech a slight nod and
cleared his throat. "How’s Weevil?"
Greg smiled shyly as he looked down the hall.
"Sleeping like a baby…"
He turned back to his supervisor as he slipped
his shoes on. "Have fun tonight?"
Grissom’s face reddened a bit, but his
expression didn’t change. "We had a very nice evening…thank you,
Greg…"
Greg nodded quickly and smiled at Sara.
"Thanks…I’ll see you tomorrow night at work…"
Sara laughed lightly as Greg clumsily stumbled
out the front door and closed it behind him. Grissom raised an eyebrow as he
tossed the cushion onto the couch and stood up.
"Do you think…"
Sara nodded quickly. "Oh yeah…"
Grissom’s skin turned another shade of red as
Sara grabbed his loosened tie and led him down the hall.

Closing the bedroom door, Grissom stared at
his wife as she took a couple of steps towards him. Leaning down, he captured
her lips once more as he slid his arms around her body. His fingers found the
zipper and pulled it down slowly. His lips moved to her sensitive neck as he
pushed the straps from her shoulders.
His breath shuddered in his chest as she
quickly unbuttoned his shirt and pushed it from his torso. His erection
strained against his slacks as her tongue slowly circled his nipple. Reaching
between their bodies, he unclasped his pants and slid them down over his hips.
Grabbing his hands, she stopped his downward motion.
He silently questioned her through his
semi-glazed eyes. She smiled she pressed another kiss to his chest. "Not
yet…"
Taking a few steps back, she pushed her dress
to the floor. Her slip and underwear followed slowly. He exhaled forcefully as
she sat down on the bed. Motioning for him to come to her, she blushed deeply
under his gaze.
Her hands rested on his thighs as he stopped
directly in front of her. Gripping the fabric in her fingers, she pulled his
slacks and boxers down to his knees as she looked up at him. Licking her lips,
she wrapped her long fingers around his engorged flesh. His eyes closed as she
slowly stroked him.
Reaching out, he grasped her shoulder and
gently squeezed as she increased her pressure. He groaned lightly as she
stopped her motion and teasingly slid her tongue along the underside of his
erection. His thigh muscles twitched as she placed a soft kiss on the glans.
Tilting her head back, her eyes closed as she
slowly slid her mouth down his length. His hand moved from her shoulder, his
fingers tangling in her brown hair. She felt his gaze on her face and opened
her eyes. His erection thickened in her mouth as their eyes locked, eliciting a
moan in her throat which vibrated gently against his flesh.
He bit his lip as she increased her pace. His
head fell back and his breath became ragged as her hand cupped his scrotum. He
groaned loudly as she gently kneaded the tightening sac. An involuntary thrust
of his hips caused her to pull back quickly. Her lips clamped down behind the
glans as her tongue flicked against the head.
Releasing her hold on his scrotum, she placed
her hands on his hips. Gripping him tightly, she quickly slid her mouth down,
stopping only when his coarse pubic hairs tickled the tip of her nose. She slid
her lips back to the head and repeated the quick motion. His right hand
tightened in her hair as his arm followed her head back and forth.
"Sara…"
The lusty growl in his voice aroused her even
more. "Hmm?"
His body shuddered as his left hand gripped
her shoulder. "If you keep…mm…doing that…I’m…going to…oh, Sara…"
She moaned against him, her orgasm flooding
over her as he erupted in her mouth. She swallowed quickly, unwilling to allow
the smallest drop escape. Her nails dug into his hips, holding him in place as
she guided her mouth down his softening length one last time. She pulled back,
holding the head in her mouth and giving it one more lick as she gazed up at
him.
He released her hair and eased his hips back,
whimpering softly as he slid from her mouth. Licking her lips, she offered him
a smile. He fought to catch his breath as he collapsed onto the bed and draped
his arm over her chest.
"You…made me…come…"
She chuckled lightly and rubbed her hand
across his chest. "Wasn’t that the point?"
He shook his head slowly. "I…wanted to
make you…"
She grinned as she blushed lightly. "I
did…"
Reaching down between her legs, his fingers
made contact with the damp sheet underneath her as he closed his eyes.
"I…well, that’s not…how I intended…"
She lifted his arm and shifted her body on the
bed. He opened his eyes and pushed himself up. "You okay?"
"Mm…yeah…I just wasn’t comfortable like
that…"
He nodded and turned his body in a mirrored
position to hers. Brushing the hair away from her face, he kissed her lips
soundly. He groaned lightly as she opened her mouth, allowing him to taste
himself on her tongue.
She pulled back and smiled as she ran her
fingers through his hair. "Gil?"
His hand rested on her stomach, he smiled as
he felt the boys shift under his touch. "Yes?"
Her finger gently traced over the folds of his
ear. "How much do you think Greg actually saw tonight?"
"Um…enough to wish that I had remembered
he was here…"
She laughed loudly as his skin turned a dark
shade of pink. "Probably nothing he hasn’t already seen before…" His
expression of mortification caused her laughter to grow. "Not us…I
mean…he’s into a lot of things…I’m sure we didn’t cause a life-altering
experience with him…"
Grissom shook his head as he eventually joined
in with her laughter. His amusement faded a bit as she looked at him with a
devilish grin.
"What?"
"You know…latex might be
interesting." She followed his eyes to her stomach. "In a few months,
that is…"
He chuckled and pulled her closer to his
chest. "I’m not too sure about that…"
"You weren’t too sure about a lot of
things…" She looked into his eyes and grinned. "And…you liked those
too…"
He licked his lips and smirked at her.
"You tend to have a way of convincing me about some things…"
She returned his smirk as she stifled a yawn.
"I think I’m a little too tired right now to do much convincing about
anything…"
He leaned into her and pressed a soft kiss to
her lips. "Good…"
She chuckled sleepily and nuzzled his chest
softly. "Happy Birthday, Gil…"
Yawning, he nodded lightly. "Yes, it
was…I love you, Sara…"
"Mm…you too…"
He smiled as he felt her body relax in his
arms, her warm breath blowing against his chest in a gentle rhythm. The twins
shifted once more, then all was still. Closing his eyes, he quickly joined the
rest of his family in slumber.
