Catherine stood in Grissom’s doorway, watching
him carefully as she called his name. No response. She tilted her head and called
again. His eyes remained focused on the wall, but she knew it wasn’t the brick
that had him captivated. She took a couple of steps into the room.
"Earth to Grissom…come in, Grissom…"
"Come in, Grissom."
He followed her into the living room, still trying
to justify his presence here. He had just meant to give her a ride home. And
now, here he was…in her apartment, alone with her, and feeling suddenly
extremely nervous.
"Come in, Grissom…"
His eyes darted from the wall to the blonde
standing on the other side of his desk. He breathed deeply as he tried to get
his heart rate to slow down.
"Ah, there you are. What planet were you
on that time?"
"Jupiter…" He answered quickly with
a slight shrug of his shoulders. "What do you need, Catherine?"
"Nothing really…"
He narrowed his eyes and rested his arms on
his desk as he leaned forward. "Then…why are you here?"
He rolled his eyes as she sat down in the
chair opposite him. She chuckled lightly.
"Relax, I won’t
be here long…"
He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall.
"I would think not; shift’s almost over."
"You in a hurry to
leave, Grissom?"
He glared at the smiling blonde. "Figured you’d be in a hurry to leave. It’s a school
day, after all…"
"You’re right; I do need to get Lindsey
to school. I was just wondering where you’ve been tonight."
He looked at her in confusion. "Here…at
work. Solved two cases tonight. I was there."
She shook her head gently. "I mean…where
has your mind been since we got back to the lab?"
"Oh. I’ve already told you…Jupiter."
"Funny, Grissom. You know, you really
should open up more. Being an enigma has been proven to be detrimental to one’s
health."
"I’m not an enigma, Catherine. People
know who I am."
"Grissom…"
He cut her off quickly with a wave of his
hand. "I let people know what they need to know. No one really needs to
know every single detail about me."
"What about Sara?"
Grissom paused for a moment. Proceeding
carefully, he spoke softly and slowly. "What about Sara?"
"Don’t you think she wants to know
more?"
"Tell me what you can about yourself,
Grissom." Sara sat down on her couch and motioned for him to join her.
He did slowly and turned to face her.
"What do you want to know?"
She smiled and shook her head gently. "Whatever you feel comfortable telling. I promise that
I won’t push for more."
His hand seemed to move of its own accord,
covering her hand which was resting comfortably on his knee. He squeezed her
fingers gently and tried to escape her gaze.
"I care, Sara. Very deeply…for you…"
"Is that why you’re here?"
He nodded slowly as she inched towards him. He
could feel her warm breath on his lips as she softly spoke. "That’s all I
have to know right now…"
His eyes closed as her lips pressed against
his.
Grissom’s eyes bored into Catherine.
"Like you, Sara knows what she needs to know." He folded his hands on
his desk. "Shift is over; are we done here?"
"Big plans, Griss?"
"Are we done, Catherine?"
Catherine eyes him suspiciously. Giving him a
brief nod and a quick shrug of her shoulders, she stood and walked to the door.
"I guess so. See you tonight…"
"No, I’m off tonight."
"Oh, that’s right. I’ll…well, have a nice night off then."
"Goodbye, Catherine."
She looked at him for a moment before
muttering a goodbye and leaving his doorway. Grissom sat there for a second
before picking up his cell phone and typing a quick message.

The kiss deepened quickly, their hands getting
involved as they roamed over each other’s bodies. Time moved rapidly and she
led him down the hall to her bedroom.
He glanced at the bed and smiled.
"Beautiful work…"
"It’s a Jupiter. Grandma gave it to me
when I left
He nodded as he pulled the shirt over her
head. "So, your Grandmother gave it to you?"
She shuddered as his fingers skirted over her
hardened nipples. "Yes…"
He gently pushed her onto the bed, climbing up
after her and covering her body with his. "Remind me to thank her…"
"Oh, Sara…" Warrick
sing-songed lightly.
"Huh? What?"
Warrick chuckled lightly. "Off in your own little
world again?"
She grinned and shook her head. "Nah…just
thinking about…Jupiter."
"The planet?"
Sara shrugged vaguely and pulled her vibrating
cell phone from her belt. She grinned as she read the message.
‘Not related to Gus but I
loved exploring Jupiter. G’
Taking a shaky breath, she typed a response. ‘Who
says you have to be an astronaut to appreciate space exploration?’
She glanced at Warrick
who was studying her carefully. She jumped slightly as the phone vibrated
against her palm.
‘What would you think of a return trip?’
She fought to control her racing heart. ‘Leaving now. Come when you’re ready.’
Warrick narrowed his eyes as Sara’s face turned a bright
shade of red. "You okay there?"
She coughed lightly as she nodded quickly,
maybe too quickly. "Yeah…uh…yeah." She glanced at the clock hanging
over the lab door. "Shift’s over, Warrick. I
think I’m going to head home."
"Yeah…okay. See you tonight…"
Sara shook her head furiously as she made her
way to the door just as her cell phone vibrated once more. "No…I’m off
tonight."
"Oh…have a good night…" He muttered
as she flew down the hall.

Grissom looked up as Sara breezed into his
office and closed the door behind her. Smiling, he leaned back in his chair.
"Yes?"
"Okay, I’ve decided that you’re an evil
man." She made her way around the desk and sat on the edge in front of
him.
"Really? What did I do this time?"
His fingers traipsed up her thighs.
She held up her cell phone for him to see.
"Well… ‘I’m ready to come when you are’…that’s evil." She glanced
down to see the bulge in his pants. She licked her lips as she exhaled lightly.
"Are you?"
"Did you lock the door?"
She nodded quickly as he grasped her hips and
pulled her onto his lap. His lips brushed across her ear. "Am I
what?"
She groaned as his erection pressed against
her center. "Ready to come…"
He glanced into her eyes as she rotated her
hips against him. His fingers caressed her face as he pulled her down to his
lips. "Depends. Are you ready?"
She answered with a buck of her hips, grinding
against the hardened flesh in his pants, as he plunged his tongue into her
mouth. Her nails raked across his shoulders as his fingers dug into her hips,
pulling her body down as he pushed his hips against her.
He kissed her passionately as his right arm
reached behind her and pushed the items sitting on his desk to the side. Once
he had cleared a sufficient spot on his desk, he stood up, groaning as she
wrapped her legs around his waist.
He laid her on his desk, scraping his teeth
across her tastebuds as he pulled from her mouth. He rocked his pelvis against
her as he looked into her eyes, his hands on the smooth wood next to her hips.
He grinned broadly as her fingers gripped his forearms, a loud groan slipping
from her lips.
"Shh…"
"If you were in my position…I don’t
think…you’d be able to stay…quiet…"
He chuckled lightly. "That would be
interesting…"
He thrust his hips against her once more and
felt her body quiver violently underneath him. He moved his hand, resting his
fingers across her lips in a half-hearted effort to keep her quiet. As her body
shuddered throughout her orgasm, he continued to thrust against her.
Her tired legs fell from his hips, he
swallowed deeply as he gazed at her flushed face. He took a small step
backwards and fell into his chair. He groaned as his erection throbbed
painfully, straining against the fabric of his boxers underneath his slacks.
She pushed herself up, gasping for air as her
eyes met his. She slid off of the desk and knelt on the floor, running her
hands up his thighs slowly. He looked into her eyes as he covered her hands
with his, stopping their movement. She questioned him silently.
He offered her a gentle smile as he squeezed
her fingers. "Not here…"
She glanced quickly at the warm bulge. "I
don’t think it would take long…"
He winked at her as she slid her body between
his legs. "No, no it wouldn’t. But…I thought we were going to have another
astronomy lesson…"
She grinned and pushed herself to a standing
position. "You know…I rented a car until mine is fixed…"
He stood up, his desire for her very obvious,
and brushed his fingers through her hair. "Yeah? What kind is it?"
She chuckled as her finger trailed down his
shirt, stopping at the waistband of his slacks. "A Saturn…"
He grinned widely as he grabbed a jacket,
folding it over his arm and holding it strategically in front of him. "Do
you know any place secluded enough for…"
"Just follow me, Grissom."
He nodded quickly and grabbed his keys. His
eyes roamed over her back as she walked in front of him. He could see the faint
bruise peeking out above her collar on the nape of her neck. He licked his lips
as he followed her out of the building and into the crisp winter air outside.
He quickened his pace and stepped up beside of
her. "You know, I love astronomy…"
"Jupiter, Saturn…what’s next? And if you
say Uranus, I’ll kick your ass…"
He laughed loudly. "I don’t know…what
about…Orion’s Belt?"
She thought about that for a moment, and then
winked at him. Reaching over, she ran her finger across the buckle of his belt.
"We could have two lessons in one…"
He playfully pushed her away and walked to his
Tahoe, smiling at the dark blue Saturn sedan parked beside of it. He climbed
into the SUV and waited until Sara had pulled out of her parking spot. He
followed her out of the lot and onto the semi-busy streets of Las Vegas,
smiling as he heard a familiar song come on the radio.
His mind drifted to the events of the past twenty-four
hours or so. His smile widened as he realized that it wasn’t just the lessons
in astronomy that he was growing to love.
