Disclaimer: I own nothing…just have some perverse fantasies that I like to push
onto Grissom and Sara.
His chest tightened as she turned from him. His
shoulders slumped in defeat. He thought the words, but was having trouble
forcing them to his lips. He took a deep breath and laid his pen on the desk.
"I think I’ve already lost you."
She inhaled sharply as she heard the whispered
admission. She tried to walk away, but her legs protested and kept her rooted
where she stood. She heard the gentle squeak of the chair as he pushed it back
and stood up.
Though she was only a few feet away from him,
he felt that she was miles away. He walked around the desk, stopping his
movement as she slowly turned around.
He licked his lips and exhaled deeply. His
voice remained soft though he spoke quickly.
"I’m scared, Sara. Don’t leave yet. I
think I need this in my life. Sometimes I think too much, but…I want to
try."
He took a step forward. "I thought I
needed space and…you gave it to me. You took a step back and…" He sighed
heavily. "I thought it was what I wanted, and now I have all the room I
could possibly need. And I still can’t move. Why do you think that is?"
Her dark eyes glistened as she shook her head.
He took another shaky step.
"If I let you in, and then you walk out
the door, how am I supposed to get over you? It’s not the age difference. It’s
not the fact that I’m…" He ran his hand through his hair in a nervous
gesture. "I’m scared. You scare me."
She stared at him, not believing what she was
hearing. Her voice wobbled as she opened her mouth and was able to utter one
word.
"What?"
He sat down in the chair, silently motioning
towards the other one in a request for her to join him. He waited until she was
seated in front of him before continuing.
"I don’t think that you know the power
you have over me."
"I don’t…want power…"
He nodded quickly and offered her a slight
smile. "I know. But, you have it. You have the power to…hurt me."
Her eyes dropped as the soft words registered
in her brain. Inhaling deeply, she looked back up into his emotion-filled eyes.
"Do I have the power to make you happy?"
His thumb rubbed the underside of his ring
finger. "I think so."
"I’m scared too, Grissom."
He tilted his head as he watched her. His hand
reached out, his fingers gently stroking the back of her hand.
"What if you let me in and…I fall even
more in love with you…and then you shut me back out. What am I supposed to do then?"
She looked down at his fingers on her hand. "But, I’m willing to take the
risk. Are you?"
His hand raised and settled under her chin,
tenderly lifting her face so that he could look into her eyes. He offered her a
gentle smile as his fingertips caressed her soft skin. She held her breath as
he leaned forward, into her personal space. She could feel his hot breath on
her lips as she stared into his eyes.
"I think so."
Her heart pounded painfully in her chest as he
inched forward and brushed his lips against hers. The chaste kiss left her
longing for more when he pulled back. She opened her eyes and sighed.
"Will you have dinner with me?" She
blurted without thinking.
His smile brightened as his fingers traced her
lips. "Yes."
Her mouth dropped open in surprise.
"Yes?"
He nodded as he leaned in and pressed another
soft kiss to her lips. As he broke the kiss and sat back in his chair, he
smiled at her. She watched in awe as the emotions in his eyes slowly faded into
oblivion. She briefly wondered if she had just imagined the last fifteen or so
minutes.
He pushed himself out of the chair and reached
down to help her up. "Time to get back to work. I’m sure that Greg would
love to discuss the DNA results with you. He may even have a nice presentation
for you…"
He chuckled lightly as he walked back around
to the chair behind his desk. As he sat down, he noticed that she was still
standing in the same place. Smiling, he waved her to the door with a shooing
motion. "Go…work."
She nodded numbly and walked to the door. With
her hand on the doorknob, she looked over her shoulder at the man sitting
calmly behind his desk as though nothing had happened.
"Grissom?"
He scribbled his name on the report and tossed
it into the ‘out’ box. Grabbing another folder, he answered without looking up.
"I’ll pick you up at 6:30 tonight."
Not hearing a response, he raised his eyes to
find her smiling at him. He returned her smile. "If that’s okay…"
She nodded as her smile grew and she turned
the doorknob. "You never lost me, you know."
He tilted his head, his pen stilling in his
hand.
"But…I think you just found me."
She slid out of his office and closed the door
behind her. He stared at the closed door for a few seconds before pushing away
from his desk. He confidently walked across his office and opened the door. He
glanced out into the hallway, smiling as he caught a glimpse of her as she
rounded the corner.
Leaving the door open, he made his way back to
his desk and picked up another report to sign.

She smiled at him from across the table.
"This is nice…"
He nodded as he took a sip of wine. "I
thought you might like it."
"You never cease to amaze me,
Grissom."
He chuckled as his fingers played with the
corner of his napkin. He looked into her eyes, his darkening slightly as he
turned serious. "Do you miss
She shook her head gently. "No…I do miss
Boston sometimes though."
"I didn’t think you liked the cold…"
"It’s not the city I miss." She
answered with a nervous smile on her lips.
"If you could go back and change one
thing in your life, would you?"
She looked at him curiously. "I don’t
know. Everything that has happened has brought me here…" Her eyes twinkled
in the candlelight. "Would you?"
He bit his lip as he nodded wordlessly. She
took a small sip of her wine and placed the glass on the table. Her fingers
fidgeted with the stem of the glass. "What?"
"I think I would’ve kissed you." His
answer was quiet, he gazed out the window.
She answered in a tone that equalled his.
"I think you did…"
He sighed lightly and shook his head.
"No. I mean, I think I would’ve kissed you the night I walked you back to
your dorm."
Her heart raced as she remembered the night in
question. She remained silent as his memories spilled from his lips.
"It was raining. Not necessarily a cold
rain, but it was cool. Neither of us had an umbrella. I’m not really sure why
we didn’t…I remember that rain was in the forecast."
She smiled as she watched the focus in his
eyes fade.
"We had met for coffee. That little shop
on the corner, Javalicious, or something. We sat there for hours, just talking.
You laughed at a stupid joke that I told you…" He chuckled lightly at the
memory. His eyes met hers as his chuckle subsided. "I always thought you
had the most beautiful laugh."
He cleared his throat softly. "You were
going to take a cab; I asked if I could walk you home. It was a nice
night…" He smiled as he lowered his voice. "But, truth be told…I just
didn’t want it to end."
His fingers wrapped around her hand.
"About halfway there, the rain blew in. We were completely drenched in
thirty seconds." He smiled brightly. "After 11 on a Wednesday night,
and we ran into the park."
"Gazebo…"
He nodded as his fingers squeezed her hand
gently. "We sat there for two hours waiting for the rain to stop. So, we
talked even more. You were cold…"
"No, I wasn’t cold…"
He narrowed his eyes slightly. "I saw the
chillbumps…"
"I wasn’t cold."
He shook his head gently as the realization
hit him over ten years later. He looked down at her arms and smiled. "Are
you cold now?"
"No." A simple, whispered reply.
"I wanted to kiss you that night,
Sara."
She blushed lightly as he motioned the waiter
over and asked for the check.

He walked her up the stairs to her apartment.
He leaned against the wall as she slid the key into the lock and pushed the
door open. When he didn’t make a move to enter her home, she arched an eyebrow
at him.
"Would you like to come in?"
"Yes." He took a deep breath and
pushed himself from the wall. "But, I’d better not."
"I could make some coffee or…"
"Sara…" He breathed her name softly.
She gazed into his eyes as he lifted his hand
and combed his fingers through her silky hair. He took a step closer to her as
he rested his hand on the side of her neck. She closed her eyes as his mouth
closed over hers.
She wrapped her arms around his neck as he
nudged her lips open with his tongue. Her fingers wound themselves in his hair
as he deepened the kiss quickly. She returned his kiss with a passion equal to
his.
She whimpered lightly as he slowly pulled from
her. He smiled as he met her eyes.
"I want to come in, Sara. But…if I
do…" His thumb brushed across her slightly swollen lips. "I don’t
want to rush this. I don’t want to screw this up again."
He took a step back and gently ushered her
into her apartment. Leaning in, he tenderly kissed her lips one last time.
"I’ll call you later."
She smiled as her fingers caressed the soft
hairs of his beard. "You better…"
He grinned widely. "I promise."
Taking a deep breath, he winked at her. "I had a wonderful evening,
Sara."
"Me too."
He stood there for a moment before nodding and
backing away from the door. "Okay, so. I…uh…I’ll call you. And…" He
chuckled. "I’d better go now…"
"Okay." She offered him a bright
smile. "I’ll talk to you soon."
"Oh yeah. Soon." He waved as he
grinned and made his way back down the hall.
She watched him until he rounded the corner
and stepped out of the main entrance door. She closed the door to her apartment
and leaned against it. Her fingers touched her tingling lips as she fought to
control her breathing.

He was sitting on his couch, the living room
illuminated only by the light from the television, when he heard a soft knock. He
glanced at the clock curiously as he walked to the door. His curiosity was
quelled when he opened the door to find a smiling brunette on his doorstep.
"If I were to tell you that it wouldn’t
screw this up, would you let me in?"
He smiled as he stepped to the side in a
silent invitation for her to enter his home. He barely had the door closed
before her hand was on the side of his face, pulling him into a passionate
kiss.
He felt her fingers tremble as she began to
unbutton his shirt. His hands covered hers quickly as he pulled back and looked
into her eyes.
"Are you sure?"
She nodded and tried to pull her hands free to
continue with her quest. He tightened his hold and licked his lips.
"You’re trembling…"
"Because I want this, not because I’m
scared." Her eyes darkened as he slowly released her hands. "Do
you?"
He cupped her face in his hands.
"Yes."
After placing a soft kiss on her lips, he took
a step away from her. Seeing the confusion in her eyes, he took her hand in
his. "But, not here."
Her confusion faded quickly as he led her down
the hall. He stopped in front of his bedroom door and sighed lightly.
"You’re sure?"
She reached out and pushed the door open.
"Oh, yeah…"
He smiled as he followed her into the bedroom
and closed the door behind them. No words were said as they quickly, but
carefully, undressed one another. As he gently laid her down on the bed, his
lips found hers again.
"You’re so beautiful, Sara."
A tear slid from her eye as his hand caressed
her skin. She felt the heat from his arousal against her thigh as his lips
slowly toured her body. She sucked in a sharp breath when his fingers found the
source of the moisture between her legs. His tongue circled her turgid nipple
as he sensuously stroked her swollen lips.
She groaned softly as his finger dipped into
her folds. Her nails scraped against his scalp as he sucked her nipple into his
mouth. Feeling the amount of moisture inside of her, he smiled against her
breast as he eased a second finger into her. Her head pressed into the pillows as
he stroked her slowly.
He released her nipple as he felt her shift
underneath him. It was then that he realized she had slid her hand between
their bodies. He gasped as her fingers encircled the engorged shaft of his
erection. She matched his movements, stroke for stroke, and allowed her thumb
to caress the glans.
"Sara…"
She smiled as he softly moaned her name. She
felt her legs quiver as his thumb brushed across her clitoris. He felt her
inner walls begin to tighten around his fingers. Lifting his head, his eyes
locked with hers.
She squeezed his erection as he pulled his
digits from her. Positioning himself between her thighs, he bent his head and
kissed her lips. His damp fingers gripped her hip as she guided the head of his
arousal into her.
He gently pushed his hips against her, moaning
as her heat enveloped him. He tried to keep his eyes focused on hers, but lost
the battle as he watched her dark irises glaze over with passion.
Her nails raked across his back, urging him to
push harder and deeper, as her teeth nipped at his collarbone. He groaned
loudly as he gave into her, giving her what she wanted, giving her what he
wanted.
A bead of sweat rolled into the hollow of her
neck as her head flung back against the pillows. His tongue quickly lapped up
the droplet as he felt her body begin to shudder. Her inner walls clamped down
on him as she screamed his name. His fingers dug into her hip as he continued
to thrust into her throughout her orgasm.
Her hands gripped his shoulder blades, holding
him tightly against her, as her name fell from his lips. She came again when
she felt him erupt inside of her.
They held one another as they felt their tired
bodies give out to exhaustion. He kissed her softly as he tried to catch his
breath. He brushed his fingers through her damp hair and smiled as she looked
into his eyes.
"I’m glad you found me…"
His smile widened as she snuggled against his
sweaty body. "I think…we found each other…"
