He looked at her with amazement as she brushed his cheek.

"Chalk…from the plaster."

They finished the job, solved the case, and were getting ready to head home.

"Sara?"

"Yeah?"

"Was there really plaster dust on my face earlier?"

She thought it an odd question, but answered truthfully. "No."

"Then why…"

She repeated the motion of caressing his face. "Just because."

Then she turned and walked away. He was left standing there, alone, skin flushed, wondering.

He turned and walked to the Tahoe. Looking back in the direction she left, he climbed in. His mind full of thoughts and confusion, he went for a drive…with no particular destination.

Ninety minutes later, he turned the engine off and looked around. Damn, what am I doing here?

He sat there for a few more minutes trying to decide what to do. Then he saw a light come on. The door opened, and out walked the most beautiful woman he had ever seen…walking towards his vehicle.

"Grissom? What are you doing here?"

"I…I don’t know." She thought it was cute when he stammered. He only did that when he was very nervous. Which was very rare. She smiled at him. Damn, he loved her smile.

"Are you hungry?"

"Me?"

She looked around, slightly confused. "Well, I don’t see anyone else out here that I’m talking to."

"Oh…I…I don’t really know."

"You don’t know if you’re hungry?"

"Huh?"

She had to suppress her laughter at that. "Come on, Grissom…I’ll fix you some breakfast."

"Oh, I don’t know Sara…I just came by because…." Why DID he come by? Damn it, Gil, think!  Looking around the Tahoe, he found something. "…you left this in the car this evening. I thought you might want it." It was a balance inquiry slip from where she asked him to stop by the ATM earlier.

She grinned at him. "Oh, okay, thanks." Knowing that wasn’t the real reason he came by, she tried again. "I really appreciate that Grissom, come on in…I’ll fix you an omelet."

He wasn’t sure what to do. If he went in there, could he really just go in for an omelet? If he said no, would she ever ask again? As he was debating with himself, she watched him. She knew what he was doing.

"Grissom? You coming?"

"Huh?"

She couldn’t hold the laughter back any longer. "Come with me, Griss."

He slowly opened the door and followed her up the walkway. Stopping on the front steps, the debate between his heart and brain started again. She turned to look at him. "It’s just an omelet Grissom."

That seemed to work, he was coming up the steps now.

Walking in the house, he closed the door behind him. He looked around, noticing that Sara was as obsessive-compulsive as he was.

That’s good.

He wandered around the living room, looking at pictures, her diplomas…a picture of the two of them…

Huh? A picture of me and Sara?

He picked the picture up, studying it. Oh…I remembered this. It was after the seminar at Harvard.

She looked up to see what he was doing, and noticed the picture he was holding. Pouring a cup of coffee for him, she smiled. She walked over to him and handed him the mug. "You remember that?"

"Yeah. I do." He put the picture back and looked at her. God, her eyes were amazing. They just drew him into her. He couldn’t look away. "That was after the seminar. You drove me crazy asking so many questions."

"Yeah." Then she softly mumbled "and you just drove me crazy."

"What?"

"Nothing…how’s the coffee?"

He looked down at the mug that he had forgotten he was holding. "Oh…it’s good."

Taking a sip, he looked back at her smiling face and saw that she was now sitting on the couch. He quickly looked around, but there wasn’t a chair. So, he joined her on the sofa, setting his coffee mug on the coaster in front of him. He was very nervous…she liked that.

She got up to go work on his omelet, and he looked up at her with questioning eyes. She smiled once again…

Damn, why does she have to smile at me like that? Doesn’t she know what that does to me?

…and said "I promised you an omelet. You can turn the TV on if you want. The remote is to your left."

He picked up the remote and turned the channel to ESPN to check on the Cubs. Before he knew it, she was sitting beside him, placing a plate in front of him.

"Thanks, Sara."

"You’re welcome." She watched him out of the corner of her eye. This man amazed her. It took everything in her not to touch him. Instead, she sat quietly beside him eating her breakfast.

"What are you eating?"

"A potato pancake…want a bite?" She cut a piece off for him and held the fork up in front of him. He slowly opened his mouth and let her feed the pancake to him.

"That’s good." That’s good??? Damn, is that the best you can come up with?? She made you breakfast, and you say that’s good?

They reached for their coffee at the same time, fingers brushing gently. It still sent electric shocks through his body. She looked at him and noticed that he had a tiny bit of cheese on the corner of his mouth. Gently, she reached up and dabbed it off with her finger.

He looked at her, but she simply said "Cheese" and held her finger to show him before licking the cheese from it.

He cleared his throat…he was becoming more aroused by the minute. She could see his skin on his neck beginning to flush. This was her chance.

"Grissom?"

He turned to her and she quickly moved to him and gently licked his lips. She leaned back and looked at him. His normally clear blue eyes and begun to cloud slightly. She moved to his neck. Gently licking and kissing her way to his earlobe.

God, if she gets to my ear, I’m gone.

But, he made no effort to move away. Instead, he moved his left arm around her, caressing her back, moving his way up to her neck. By the time his hand reached her neck, her mouth was gently sucking his earlobe into her mouth. She heard him gently moan.

Her left hand had started working on the buttons of his shirt. Her fingernails were gently scraping his chest. Suddenly, he pulled away and stood up.

"Griss?"

"Sara, we can’t…I mean, I’m your…we just…" He looked into her eyes, and saw the love. "You’re beautiful, Sara."

He quickly made his way back to her…covering her mouth with his. His tongue found hers and his hands began unbuttoning her blouse. Her hands fumbled with his belt.

His mouth and tongue traced its way down her throat as he pulled her blouse from her shoulders. He pulled his own shirt free as it suddenly became necessary to feel her skin against his. She wrapped her arms around him pulling him closer to her…nibbling on his shoulder.

"God, Grissom, I didn’t think you’d ever catch my hints."

He pulled back to look at her. "Sometimes I’m a little slow. Especially when it’s something I want."

She had finally gotten him free of his clothing. She could finally feel his bare skin against her…she could feel his growing erection against her leg. He reached into his pants pocket on the floor and pulled out a condom. She grinned at him, but didn’t have to ask anything. He offered an explanation voluntarily.

"I was hoping."

He leaned his head down to take her nipple into his mouth. He felt her hands running through his hair and then down his back. Her body felt so good against his. He wanted her so badly right now.

She pulled his face back to hers, looked him in the eyes, saw the love and whispered "Make love to me Gil."

He loved it when she called him Gil, though it was a very rare occurrence.

He watched her face as he entered her. She closed her eyes and drew in a sharp breath. He held still as she adjusted around him. She opened her eyes and let him know she was ready with a passionate kiss. He began slowly….wanting to make the most of this wonderful situation.

He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Honey, I won’t last long this time."

She smiled and said, "We have all night, Gil. I love you."

"I love you too Sara."

"Why? Why do you love me?"

He stopped his motion, pulled back to gaze into her brown eyes, smiled the biggest smile she had ever seen, and said, "Just because."
